About this project

The authors of this site are interested in understanding how electricity-grid frequency changes over time and making those observations accessible to others.

As a fully independent project, qldgrid.observer records frequency measurements from a monitoring location in Brisbane, Queensland, and applies analytical techniques to examine the readings. It is intended for curious readers, students, educators and anyone interested in the behaviour of the electricity grid.

The aim is to provide a clear view of the measurements, explain how they are collected and analysed, and build a long-term record for further study.

About the data
